*5058 $aIn June 1991 The Wire published an interview with the ex-Rip, Rig And Panic pianist Mark Springer under the section heading Invisible Jukebox. The format of the interview was a new one for the magazine, but the idea, as outlined in the feature's strapline, seemed simple enough: each month, sit a musician or group down with an interviewer, play them a series of records, and ask them to identify and comment on them - with no prior knowledge of what they were about to hear.
